I've Been Tagged!

Katrina over at The World Crafter's Inkspot has tagged me in Blog Tag. How exciting!

The rules are:

1.) You must post the rules in a new blog post

2.)  Answer the questions and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you tag

3.) Tag eleven people and link to them.

4.) Let them know you've tagged them.

Katrina's questions are:

1.) If you could be a book character, who would it be?
Book character? Hmmm. Probably Lark, from Lark. :)

2.) Superpower?
I think I'd want to be able to fly. (Which is weird, considering that I'm afraid of heights.)

3.) Do you prefer illustrated or non-illustrated novels?
Illustrated, preferably by Trina Schart Hyman.

4.) Fantasy or science-fiction?
          Ooooh fantasy. I love fantasy!

5.) Can you write in a noisy environment or does it have to be quiet?
It doesn't matter. Quiet is easier, sure, but it's not like I can't function if there's noise.

6.) How many books can you read in a day?
My record is two. But they were good sized novels!

7.) Favorite author?
You're kidding, right? There's no possible way for me to pick just one! How 'bout three? Diana Wynne Jones, Brian Jacques, and Eoin Colfer are some that pop to mind. ..........Okay, four.  Jonathan Stroud is pretty awesome too.

8.) Favorite illustrator?
Trina Schart Hyman and K. Y. Craft.

9.) Middle grade or young adult novels?
          Oh that's hard. I like both a lot. :)

10.) One person in the world you wish you could meet?
Gosh, are you kidding me? Hmmm. Choices, choices. Okay, if I had to choose just one, I'd say Josh Groban.

11.) One place in the world you wish you could go to?
            Scotland or Rome

My questions for the people I tag are:
1.) Name three of your favorite/can't-live-without books.
  2.) Favorite movie?
  3.) Coffee or Tea?
4.) Favorite music genre? Song? Singer? (three in one, I know. But I couldn't resist.)
5.) If you were stuck on a desert island, what would you miss the most?
6.) Vampires, Zombies, or Orcs? (Wow, that's got to be hard to answer, I don't envy you that choice.)
7.) Can you play an instrument? If so, which one/ones?
8.) List your five favorite TV shows
9.) Which accent do you like the most?
10.) You have a choice to either go to a major party with dancing and lots of people, or stay at home and read. Which would you choose?
11.) Reading, writing, drawing, singing, or acting?

Whew. Unfortunately, I don't follow that many blogs, eleven is a lot! I need to start following more. Sorry I is breaking the rules. :-P

More Pictures Of Which I've Grown Absurdly Fond

First off, here are 5 things I’ve decided to divulge about myself.

1.) I used to get so irritated when the blogs I liked to follow were not regularly updated. I will never do so again, I didn’t realize how many days can slip by before you remember to post something. **grin!**

2.) I’m considering new ideas for blog posts. Hints, anyone?

3.) Sylvester Stallone is hilarious in Oscar

4.) I find spiders some of the most terrifying specimens of life on the planet.
5.) It’s disturbing how distressed I was over a Mob boss dying in a TV show.
                         I was greatly distressed.
                                    I cried.

Now, several people I know have had new babies. (Congrats, all you peoples!) So I was inspired and drew a sketch of a mommy and a baby.

I think the baby is slightly…off. But I really liked the way the picture on the whole turned out. :)

I intended to be bold and make the shirt red. But I picked up the wrong colored pencil, so it's more of a brick color. (it was a horrid orange before I fixed it with brown shading. Whew!)

Jean is a very hard material to draw. I just can't get the texture (not to mention the color) right! Oh well. It's blue. It's supposed to be jean. Tell your friends. :)

I’ve sort of been in a fantasy mood lately, I think it’s probably related to playing Wizard101. As such, I have thought of two characters for a book, which, as yet, has no plot and two main characters. (okay, three, but I haven’t drawn her yet.) Give me a chance, I’ll work on it and get back to you! It’s just an idea right now.

Anyway, I drew pictures of two of the main characters. I even used the awesome set of graphite pencils which I got for Christmas last year. I know I should use them more, but I fear the idea of using so many pencils on one picture intimidates me. Sad, eh?

I confess, I didn’t name the sketches until after the pictures were finished. I considered naming this one Rowan something, but decided that she looked more like a Russian.

 So she’s Natalia.

She wasn’t supposed to turn out so evil looking. But she did. I think I’ll make her an assassin or something. lol

This one turned out cuter. I thought she looked like a Monica. Don’t you? I like the way her hair turned out. **Pats self on the back** :-)

I realize that the knife which she is holding wouldn't do her any good in an actual battle. But I hadn't intended to make this a work of art when I sketched it out, so.... I figure it's just a ceremonial thing...for a ceremony...which she will apparently go to. :)

That’s it for now, peoples!

In Which I Tell You Strange Things. (All inspiration goes to my little sister Annie, who came up with the idea.)

“Strange?” you say in bewilderment, “Such as?”
        Well…..I warned you.
        Are you ready?
        Here it comes!

It really is astounding what I didn’t know about the Tooth Fairy.

“……Yeah,” you say, after a moment’s pause, “that is strange.”

For example, did you know that when the Tooth Fairy is alerted to the fact that a human child has lost one of its precious Pearly Whites, she doesn’t actually fly to the child’s house? Oh no, she enchants the dollar bill (which she leaves under the child’s pillow in exchange for the tooth) into a magic carpet. This way her wings won’t get tired as she flies the long way back to Fairyland. (this inspired me so much that I drew a picture of it.)
Did you know that was how the Tooth Fairy arrived at your house? Me neither.

Did you further know that upon exchanging the child’s tooth with a dollar bill, she slips the tooth into a tiny pouch and takes it back to Fairyland?
I know what you’re thinking, “What do the fairies use the teeth for?” Right?

The rest of the fairies change the baby teeth into more dollar bills. (did you know that that was how money came about?)
Now you’re probably wondering, “Well, why do the fairies change the teeth into dollar bills?”
I asked Annie. After a moment’s thought, she said, “Because the fairies like making little kids happy by giving them money.”

        I find that absolutely adorable.

As such, having been inspired...I drew a picture of the Tooth Fairy as she flies to some lucky child's house. I have grown ridiculously attached to this picture.

Step One: Sketching it out and accidentally forgetting to take pictures until drawing was completely sketched.

Step Two: Begin coloring in. By the way, I have discovered that Americans have really pretty money. Lovely stuff. Nice shade of green. Ridiculously hard to copy. I dare you, just try to draw a one dollar bill. It's not easy. Growl! AND to make matters worse, I do not own a colored pencil which is the same color green as money. Just F.Y.I. :)
Close up of the dollar bill. I know it's not exactly.... counterfeit material,  but hey...

Step Three: Complete sketch and become absurdly proud it.

Nice to Meet Me?

Here are ten things I think you should know about me if you're thinking about following this blog.

     1.) I'm strange.
But don't be scared! I'm strange in a good way.
(however, if you have no sense of humor, you might not like it here.)

2.) I'm a Traditional Catholic, but I promise not to be preachy. *Smiles benignly at you*

3.) My favorite types of books are rollicking adventure/fantasy stories. Preferably with a cute romance in them.

4.) I can't decide which movie genre is my favorite...I guess it really depends on the mood I'm in.

     5.) I'm home schooled.

6.) I love reading, drawing, and writing. In fact you'll probably see some of my favorite sketches on here if I happen to feel bold enough to post them.

7.) I find watching fist fights in movies thrilling.

8.) I have yet to watch Rocky. That is something I must resolve soon. (But I think Real Steel is probably just as good.)

9.) I love listening to music. Josh Groban is the best male singer ever. Do not argue with me on that! If you don't like him, I guess we can agree to disagree. *winks*

10.) If you ever get the chance, you really must go to Scotland. It's lovely there. And when you get there, you have to visit Incholm Island. I mean it.
