Driving, and baking, and Whovian-isms.

So..........

It has come to this.

So, seeing as I'm turning eighteen in about five months, I finally reconciled myself to the fact that I really need to learn how to drive.

For most people, this is a good thing. Driving is fun! Right? Right?

WRONG!

People: I'm the girl who's terrified of the presser foot on sewing machines. (Like literally.... terrified.)

For me,  the idea of driving is like:

only Gus runs like that..... don't know how he does it.

It doesn't really help that the car we learn to drive in is...... kind of..... well..... it's old! Okay?! It's old! It rattles and shakes and squeals and groans! It's rusty! It's embarrassing to be seen with! It's a total bomb!

But we believe that knowing how to drive a stick is a necessity.

So I will learn to drive in it.

In this bad boy.

This picture makes it look way more attractive than it is in real life.

*sigh*

I have killed it so many times. But hey ho. Once I'm competent and confident with it, I shall move to the automatic, which is nice... I will not be taking my driver's test with it. Thank heaven. =)

I made banana bread today. It was amazing, even if I do say so myself. Haha! So after dinner we had tea or cocoa and banana bread. And then, while I did dishes Amy took out my computer, and showed people her Pinterest boards. Most everyone crowded around to look.

I fear my nieces have lost any chance they had at ever being normal. They are already Whovians. Singing the Doctor Who theme song.

  *snickersnort*

Poor little children, poooor little things! But seriously. That's cute stuff right there.

Also, I may have gotten my brother addicted to the Kid Snippets. Kid Snippets are absolutely hilarious

This is for anyone who has ever helped a kid with math.

And now I shall awa'.

Thinks to do.

Books to read.

Worlds to save.

Swings to.... swing on.

Cheers!

Picture Saturday-- which involves a lot of color.

So, I've been wanting to work on drawing landscapes for  a while now. I just keep putting it off because...... well, I'm not that great at them, and I really don't like doing stuff I'm not good at.

But I decided to go for it.

And added a wee person. 'Cause I figured..... what the heck? There's still mountains and trees and..... stuff.

I think it turned out pretty well. *wink*

I'm really loving her skirt. She looks like she has a happy.

Cheers and cheerio!

I bring you good tidings of great joy.....

SO! Guess what!! Guess what!! Guess what!!

My sister, Amy:

^^^ that one ^^^

is doing a giveaway, over here! Which I find to be rather brilliant because it's nice and easy to enter.... and she makes the loveliest jewelry and hair pretties.

So yersh. Go enter. Make her day. :)

I'm still on an Eagle high.... It's surprising how many people I know had seen it and were like, "Oh yeah! I saw that! I thought it was good!" And me..... well I'm like, "You  saw  that  movie  and  you  never  TOLD  me about it!? How  are  we  even  friends??

I have not watched Doctor Who in about two weeks. I've taken to drawing the Doctor in my spare time. I need to do a better one over the weekend.( I don't much care for his face or jacket.)

That's all!

Cheers!

In which I babble and gush.

Hello, hello, hello!!

First off! Amy posted my letter. It's here.

Secondly!! Have you ever watched a movie that leaves you feeling like you've had about three energy drinks and a bag of skittles? When you watch the movie at the perfect time for your mood and the absurd love you feel for it comes bubbling up in skittish energy? And you run around shadowboxing and squealing the name of your favorite character over and over again?

Please tell me Amy and I are not the only ones.

Because we watched The Eagle last night.

AND I LOVE THAT MOVIE! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!! *Shadowboxes.* It was so awesome! The battle scenes were awesome. The characters were awesome. The scenery was awesome. The movie  was awesome. I liked one character the teensiest bit more than the other one. But I like small people.

Esca!!

Marcus!!

Yeah. Lots of love for that movie. A kind of embarrassing amount of love since it's not really a girl movie, (a bit violent) but there you go. (It also had some of the most beautiful filmography I've ever seen. And it's in set in Britain....) *sheepish grin.*

Thirdly!! Both Kat and Alyianna tagged me!

Isn't it funny, how you can go for months without a single tag and then BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!! You're hit with eight or so in a single week. Ha!

Kat got bored with the tag that was going around, so she made her own. She's like that.

Rules:

*Answer the questions
*Tell four very random things about yourself
*Nominate if you feel like it. (or essentially that.)

Kat's questions:

1.) What sort of a book would you describe yourself to be? (i.e., are you a fantasy, historical fiction, dystopian, etc?)     Um.... I'm on of those fictions that has a mix of fantasy, some snappy dialogue, and touch of insanity.

2.) What would be likelier to do? Order a coffee with a British accent, or pretend to be deaf when someone talks to you?
Order a coffee with a British accent. Under the name River.

3.) A total stranger comes up to you. Do you (a.) react instantly and punch him in the face before he has a chance to introduce himself? (b.) step back and wait to see if he is hostile before punching? or (c.) go all coward and run away, screaming like a banshee?
It really depends on the situation!! Like say, for example, that a thuggish man with cauliflower ears and a bashed nose was nearing my proximity with a snappy gait I would definitely punch him in the face and run. However, if he happened to look nice and non-threatening, B would be my reaction.

4.) Would you prefer to be sick with the stomach 'flu or a shockingly bad case of strep throat?     You're killing me here. I haven't had strep that I can remember, so I'm going with that. Because I just had the flu. I would rather have faced the Silence.

5.) If YOU could be a superhero, what type would you like to be?
Well I wouldn't be Tap Man. I'd be more the silent and deadly type. With a gun.

6.) Someone yells "Obey!" What's the first thing you think of?
I think of Daleks screaming, "OBEY!" at each other. In harmony.

And for the four very random facts:

1.) I think the way arms are shaped is weird.
2.) I can seriously love violent action movies as long as they have a good ending.
3.) I can do the "Live long and prosper" sign with both hands.

4.) I hate (with a capital H) trying new things. New activities, new situations, new roads... Hate.

Okay!! And now I move on to Alyianna's...... Shine On award!

Rules:
*Link back to the person who nominated you: Done
*Post the badge on your blog: Done
*Answer the questions posed.
*Nominate five bloggers who shine a light on your day and notify them.
*Issue some questions you'd like them to answer

Questions!

1.) Who are your five favourite authors and why?

In no particular order:
Ally Carter: because her books are hilarious. Because she can write good heroins who are tough and clever, but not obnoxious. And because her guy character tend to be really, really cool.
Owen Francis Dudley: because he writes the best Catholic books in the history of the world
Anthony Horowitz: Because his book are awesome.
     J.R.R. Tolkien: No explanation necessary
Rick Riordan- because.... I like his books. Do I really need a reason? Okay. Percy. And Jason. But mostly Percy.

2.) If you had one day left to live, what would you do? (Oh, and it does matter how long your answer to this. A schedule for the whole day would work, too. xD But I doubt any of you will want to spend that much time on it. ;P)
Pray. Receive the Sacraments. And.... I don't know.... spend it with my family. It would stink to have to plan your own last day to live though. Just sayin' :)

3.) What are your top twenty favourite foods? :P
..................................... It's Lent,  people! ALL the food sounds good right now!

4.) Which of these would you rather do?
- save the world with Percy Jackson
- spend a day riding horses and shooting targets with Merida (that red-headed princess in Brave)
- travel Middle Earth with Gandalf (you're not going to spend much time in any place, though)

Um...... CHOICES! I hate making choices. All of them. There. Now I don't have to choose.

5.) Which of these would you rather do?
 - work in the house with Cinderella but get to go the ball with her and end up marrying Cinderella's prince's brother
- time travel with the Doctor (I haven't watched that show...yet.)
- spend a day at home alone getting to do whatever you want to do

Waal. Either travel with the Doctor:

OR spend a day at home alone. I love the simple stay-at-home days, where you can just relax and work on your hobbies. (but I must admit. I did not know that Cinderella ended up with a brother-in-law. That's pretty cool. But nah. I would never want to marry into royalty.)

And now, you nominees, here are my questions to you:

1.) Avengers or Batman?
2.) What is your favorite kind of dog?
3.) Bourne or Bond? (I actually have never seen a single James Bond movie. But he has a cool name.)
4.) Do you have any desire to learn how to use a gun? Sword? Bow and arrow?
5.) When watching a movie in a different language, would you rather subtitles or have it dubbed over?

And now, I will nominate. You ladies and pick which award you want. Or you can do both. Or whatever. It's up to you. :)

So much love......

HALLO!

And Happy Valentine's Day!

I would have drawn a cute picture, but unfortunately I've been horrifically ill the last couple of days. (And I do mean horrifically. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.) Today is my comeback, I think. But I am wiped out. You know: get up, brush hair, take an hour nap? Yeah. It's been that kind of day. Sigh.

On to happier subjects! It is Valentine's Day! Which means.... uh.... You know, I had  a thought there... I seem to have forgotten it. Hmmm.

So anyway, let's talk romance. I know, I  know  that this is basically the same kind of post everyone else is doing, but hey ho.

I'm going list five types of things that put me in the Valentine's mood.

1.) MUSIC! Music is definitely one of the things that can put me in a sappy mood in seconds. Don't know why. It's weird. But here are a few of my favorite love songs:

Josh Groban- You Are Loved. Face it, people. Those are some of the best lyrics you have ever heard!

Hayley Westenra- My Heart Belongs to You.

Josh Groban- For Always. (The song doesn't start until 1:43-ish. But it was the only version of him singing it solo that I could find, and it's better solo. :)

And now I insert a random country song, because.... I just really love it.
John Michael Montgomery- I Can Love You Like That

Probably the best love song from Disney ever...

And one more Josh songs, just because it's Josh and he's my favorite. =)

2.) PICTURES! Pictures also have the sappy effect on me. My Pinterest board is laden with silly pictures. :)

3.) MOVIES! Or more specifically, movie couples. :)

1.) Return to me. Adorable. Probably one of my favorite romances of all time. (A couple of off color conversations but nothing too horrid.)

2.) Cinderella Man-- Okaaay. Not technically a romance. More of a boxing movie. Bit violent. But the relationship between Jimmy and Mae is very cute and realistic.

3.) Kate and Leopold - Hugh Jackman. 'Nuff said.

4.) Doctor Who's Amy and Rory

4.) BOOKS!!

1.) Lark by Sally Watson. Seriously, seriously cute book. I haven't met anyone who hasn't loved it yet. :)

2.) The Sherwood Ring. You want romance? Go for it.

3.) Sorcery and Cecilia- or the enchanted chocolate pot. Hilarious. Cute. Awesome.

5.) QUOTES! Quotes have a weird effect on me. Just sayin'.

And there you go. I hope the length of this post did not frighten you away.

As for me, I am not in love or even seeing anybody on the horizon to  love. But that's okay, you know. I'm only a likkle person still, and I have some time. I'm not ready to be married. But one day.... right? :)

So today this is me.

God bless and Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

I'm going to go take a nap.

Tag! I'm It!

Hey all!

So, the very awesome and hilarious Rachel, over at Mismatched Socks gave the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! And seeing as I haven't received on in a while, I'm actually excited about it!

Rules

*Acknowledge the person who passed the award to you and provide their link.
*Include the award logo on your blog.
*Answer the ten questions posted below.
*Make up your own ten questions for the next people.
*Nominate blogs and link those you have especially enjoyed reading. The number you can select is up to you.
*Notify each individual that you have nominated them

You know what I love about this particular award?? I  don't  need  to  list  a ridiculous  amount  of  previously  unknown  facts  about  myself!  How cool is that?

Okay, so Rachel's questions are:

1) What's your favorite tv show?? c'mon. choose just one, you can do it.
Uuuh. Nope. I can't choose just one, because there are so many different categories and so many levels of my obsessions. For example, you really  cannot compare Psych  to Doctor Who,  or Sherlock  to Leverage, or Monk  to Hogan's Heroes. So.... all of those. ^ *wink*

2) Why would you use the word "Pizzazz"?
Because 'Pizzazz' is an awesome word. Duh! "The addition of oregano added a certain amount of pizzazz to the spaghetti sauce."  Or, "Eleven was under the opinion that bowties add pizzazz to any outfit." (Because bowties are  cool)

3) Would you rather call or text?
You know, it really depends on the person. If the person will laugh with me at my weirdness, yes, I'd like to call. But if the person is one of those who just listens and grunts when you're laughing your head off, that's awkward and I'd rather text.

4) How do you feel about camping?
Eh... I'd rather just go on a hike.

5) What's that one thing people say you *always* do?
Sing? Bite my nails? Obsess over random TV shows?

6) What's up!?
    The sky! Obviously!
Actually, not much. A lot of school..... Just watched Angels Take Manhattan. *Bawl* So. Many. Feels.

(On a more cheerful note...)

Also, been doing the Thirty Day Shred. It's scary how out of shape I was. But I can get through it without dying now. That's a plus! *Knuckle bump*

7) What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
I'm not really a crazy kind of girl. I'm a little inhibited..... Okay. Okay. A lot inhibited.

     Think.

     Think...

     Think.....

Wow. I'm really boring! How embarrassing.

8) have you ever wanted to climb one of those super tall phone tower things??
    You mean these bad boys?

9) Chick flick or action?
Really depends on the mood I'm in. Generally, I'd say action all the way. Bourne, Man on a Ledge, Ghost Protocol.... Yeah. However, If I'm IN a chic flic mood, (and believe me, that does happen) A Walk to Remember, Princess for Christmas, and Tangled are definitely some good picks.

10) Do you want a motorcycle?
LOL no. I want a Range Rover. =)

and because I just want this one:
11) Whovian or Shelocked?
      WHOOOOOLLLOOOOOOOCKED

Okay! Now for my questions:

1.) Do you like waffles?
2.) What does the word, "DoooWEEEEOOOOO!" mean to you?
3.) How tall are you?
4.) On a scale of one to ten, with ten being greatest, how much do you need coffee?
5.) Would you like a Hiddleston hug?
6.) On an average, how many books a year to you read?
7.) Who's your favorite musical artist
8.) How do you feel about black and white movies?
9.) Favorite type of food? (Italian, Chinese, American...)
10.) Can you count to five?? .........In Swahili???

And now! I tag these lovely ladies:

July at July A. Emmance

Cheers, girls! Have fun! Tally ho, toodle pip, and all that jazz. :)
